Law Enforcement Guidelines

These guidelines describe how law enforcement and other government agencies can request user information or content preservation from GujuLoveGuru. This page is not legal advice and does not create any right or expectation. We reserve all rights and objections. Members can find the same information here so they understand our process.

1. How to contact us

Send all formal legal process to contactgujuloveguru@gmail.com with the words "Law Enforcement Request" in the subject line. We accept service by email in PDF form. We do not accept service by phone, fax, or social media, and email is not agreement to accept service where formal service is required by law.

2. Required legal process

GujuLoveGuru operates in the United States and follows the Stored Communications Act, 18 U.S.C. § 2701 et seq., and other applicable U.S. law. Absent an emergency or valid user consent, we require:

• Subpoena for basic subscriber information (name on account, email address, account creation date, IP address at signup and last login, and billing information we have on file).
• Court order under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(d) for non-content records such as message metadata, match activity, and login history.
• Search warrant issued on probable cause under Rule 41 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure or an equivalent state warrant for the content of communications, photos, and stored files.

Requests from outside the United States must be issued through a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, letter rogatory, or 18 U.S.C. § 2523 agreement.

3. Emergency disclosure

Under 18 U.S.C. § 2702(b)(8) and (c)(4), we may disclose information without legal process when we believe in good faith that an emergency involving imminent danger of death or serious physical injury requires it. Submit emergency requests to contactgujuloveguru@gmail.com with "EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE" in the subject line, from an official government email address, and include the nature of the emergency and the information needed.

4. Preservation requests

We honor properly submitted preservation requests under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f) for up to 90 days, extendable once for another 90 days. Preservation alone is not disclosure; separate legal process is required to release the data.

5. What must be in a request

• The specific account, identified by username, email address, or user ID. General or overbroad requests will be rejected.
• A precise description of the records sought and the relevant date range.
• The name, badge or bar number, agency, official email address, and phone number of the requesting officer.
• A copy of the underlying legal process.

6. Notice to users

Our policy is to notify users of legal process seeking their information before disclosure so they may seek to challenge the request, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so (for example, a non-disclosure order) or we believe in good faith that notice would create a risk of injury or obstruction of justice.

7. Cost reimbursement

We may charge for the costs of processing legal requests as permitted by 18 U.S.C. § 2706 and other applicable law.

8. Data retention

We keep records only as long as described in our Privacy Policy. We cannot produce information we do not have.

9. Civil requests

Civil litigants must serve a valid U.S. subpoena on GujuLoveGuru and comply with all applicable laws, including the Stored Communications Act, which generally prohibits disclosure of content in response to a civil subpoena. Serve civil subpoenas by email to contactgujuloveguru@gmail.com.

10. Reservation of rights

Nothing in these guidelines waives any objection, including lack of jurisdiction, overbreadth, or lack of proper service. We may object to or narrow any request as permitted by law.
